PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve efficient and secure data communication in a sensor network. SOLUTION: In the sensor network, a node which has received a signature setting packet from a message transmission device creates and outputs a first MAC setting packet for setting an MAC, to which a node specific common key is applied under and subject to success in signature verification to which a public key is applied. A cluster head node receives the packet, and creates and outputs a second MAC-setting packet for setting the MAC, to which a cluster common key shared by sensor nodes in a belonging cluster is applied under and subject to confirmation of success in verification by MAC-verifying processing. The sensor node which has received the second MAC-setting packet performs application processing of the received message under and subject to success in verification by MAC-verifying processing.
