PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing and drying machine which permits wash drying efficiency to be improved. SOLUTION: The washing and drying machine is provided with a first valve 16. When water in a drum 5 circulates through a clearance 25, a relay opening 14 is opened by the first valve 16. On one hand, in a spin-drying operation, when dry air from a dry air supply device 40 is supplied into the drum 5 from the drum opening 23, the first valve 16 closes the relay opening 14. Consequently, the dry air never flows into the clearance 25 from the relay opening 14, the machine can unerringly supply the dry air to the wash in the drum 5 from the drum opening 23.
