PHARMACEUTICAL COMBINATION PREPARATION OF OXYCODONE AND NALOXONE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxycodone pharmaceutical composition containing oxycodone or its salt and difficult to be parenterally abused and diverted than the other formulations. SOLUTION: A specific embodiment of the pharmaceutical composition contains 10-40 mg of oxycodone hydrochloride or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt and 0.65-0.90 mg of naloxone hydrochloride or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt. Preferably, the pharmaceutical composition provides a dissolution rate of naloxone hydrochloride within±10% to that of oxycodone hydrochloride in vitro tested by USP device I (basket) method in USP XXIV (2000) under 100 rpm in 900 ml of a simulated gastric fluid (SGF) at 37°C for one, four and 12 hours.
