PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem in an automatic splicing device wherein due to trapping of air caused by rotation (predriving) for synchronization of circumferential speed, a tip portion of a paper sheet or film on a subsequent roller is floated and adhered to a paper sheet or film in operation at unexpected timing, leading to splicing failure. SOLUTION: In this rotary automatic splicing device, a roll-shaped paper sheet or film journaled to a preceding rotating roller is paid out, and splicing is continuously performed to a roll-shaped paper sheet or film journaled to the subsequent roller without stopping the rotation of the preceding roller. During splicing of the paper sheet or film on the preceding roller, the subsequent roller is rotated to synchronize the circumferential speed with the rotation of the preceding roller, and air is injected to the surface of the roll-shaped paper sheet or film on the subsequent rotating roller.
