The worm gear has a worm shaft (40), a worm wheel (50) and a gear housing (20). A compression piece (70) is movably supported in direction of the worm shaft, which exerts a force on the worm shaft in direction of the worm wheel. The worm shaft has a fixed bearing (80) at an end and a loose bearing (90) at another end. The fixed bearing allows a pivoting of the worm shaft relative to the worm wheel.
