509,572. Cellulose wool: VEREINIGTE GLANZSTOFF - FABRIKEN AKT. - GES. Nov. 18, 1938, No. 33539. Convention date, Nov. 23, 1937. [Class 2 (ii)] Highly crimped and unfelted cellulose wool is obtained by spinning an alkali-poor viscose, after-ripened to beyond 5‹ Hottenroth, and having an alkali-cellulose ratio of at most 6 : 8, into a weakly acid, neutral, or weakly alkaline bath rich in salt, containing for example, sodium sulphate, magnesium sulphate, or zinc sulphate, with a small amount of acid or alkali. The fibres are stapled, opened if desired in a salt containing bath, acidified with dilute acid solutions (less than 50 grms. sulphuric acid per litre), washed, after-treated, and dried. The filaments are preferably stretched, prior to stapling. Examples are given. |
