PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use a cylinder for a long period of time even when the cylinder of a limited capacity is used while maintaining a high cooling effect to a heat source. SOLUTION: The portable endoscope apparatus 3 is provided with an endoscope 8 with an insertion part 6 and an operation part 7. To the operation part 7, an air supply and water supply unit 9 provided with a storage tank 22 and the cylinder 23 is attached. The operation part 7 is provided with an air supply and water supply button 16. An air supply and water supply channel 26 is disposed so as to pass through the vicinity of a light source unit 35 provided on the distal end of the insertion part 6. When the air supply and water supply button 16 is not operated, a gas is supplied to the air supply and water supply channel 26. A regulator 46 for adjusting a pressure is provided on the supply port of the cylinder 23. An actuator 48 and an adjusting screw 47 adjust the pressure to 54.5 kPa when the air supply and water supply button 16 is not operated and adjust the pressure to 60 kPa when the air supply and water supply button 16 is operated.
