PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect the imbalanced state of clothes in a drum. SOLUTION: The laundry machine is provided with a drum 3 which receives the laundry and performs rotary movements, a motor 7 which rotary drives the drum 3, a number of rotation detecting device 14 which detects the number of rotations of the motor 7 and a control part 31 which controls the rotation of the motor 7 according to the detection output of the number of rotation detecting device 14. The control part 31 has the detection process in which the rotation of the drum 3 is accelerated by subjecting the motor 7 to predetermined acceleration torque and the integrated acceleration torque during the increase in the number of rotations from a predetermined number of rotations N1 up to N2 is measured. Vibrations are detected according to the integrated acceleration torque. Vibrations of a water tub at relatively high-speed operation are detected during dewatering operation by detecting vibrations of the water tub (imbalanced distribution of the clothes) at the time of relatively high-speed operation. In this manner, dynamic imbalance which is produced by imbalanced distribution of the clothes in the drum can be accurately detected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
