PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an Ni-based metallic glass alloy having high amorphous-forming ability and combining excellent workability, mechanical properties and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION: This metallic glass alloy is characterized in that: it has a composition represented by Ni<SB>100-a-b-c</SB>Zr<SB>a</SB>Al<SB>b</SB>Nb<SB>c</SB>(wherein, the symbols (a), (b) and (c) are values satisfying, by the respective atomic percentages of Zr, Al and Nb, 10≤a≤35, 2.5≤b≤15, 5≤c≤25 and 30≤a+b+c≤55, respectively); a temperature interval ΔTx between a crystallization initiating temperature in a supercooled liquid region and a glass transition temperature is ≥40 K; and a reduced vitrification temperature defined by the ratio of the glass transition temperature to a liquidus temperature is ≥0.57. It is preferable that the ratio of the crystallization initiating temperature to the sum of the glass transition temperature and the liquidus temperature is ≥0.385. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
