The light (1) has a controller (7) controlling an adjustable illuminated sign. Traffic flow is interrupted by a waiting vehicle i.e. passenger transport vehicle, by the illuminated sign. Another illuminated sign is provided for preliminary warning of the traffic flow. The interruption of the traffic flow is triggered automatically during approximation of the waiting vehicle, where the traffic flow is interrupted by the controller for a predetermined time interval. The controller comprises a receipt mechanism (6) for receiving radio signals of the waiting vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a method for interrupting traffic flow with a traffic light.
