METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING AT LEAST ONE OBJECT DETECTION SENSOR

The method involves switching an object detection sensor (1) between operating modes, and accessing the sensor by driver assistance functions e.g. adaptive-cruise-control (ACC) function (3) and emergency brake function (4). The mode switching is selected based on currently accessed functions. A coordinator (2) is provided between the functions and sensor, and an important density function is transmitted to the coordinator. A detection probability density function is transmitted to the coordinator, and the suitable operating mode for each assistance function is selected by the coordinator. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling an object detection sensor for a motor vehicle.
