The breaker has a switching device (2) for switching an electrical contact. A short-circuit triggering device (3) triggers the switching device in the event of a short circuit. A fault current triggering device (5) triggers the switching device in the event of a fault current and/or a differential current. The devices (2, 3, 5) are consecutively arranged in a longitudinal alignment. A test circuit device (6) is arranged adjacent to the device (5). The breaker is narrowly formed such that it is arranged in a housing of a power circuit breaker (1) with a maximum breadth of 18 millimeter.
