A method of assembling a swimfeeder (20), comprising providing a swimfeeder body (22) having a fixing pin (48a,48b,50); providing a weight (70) including a hole (84a,84b,86); mounting the weight to the body by inserting the fixing pin into the hole; applying energy to the fixing pin such that it melts and allowing the material of the fixing pin to re-solidify such that it cannot be withdrawn from said hole, thereby fixing the weight (70) to the body (22).
