A bench for the bench press is provided, which easily can raise the body without any trouble caused by the barbell mounted on a holder. A bench for the bench press comprises: a bench frame(100); a barbell holder(200) which is installed to make it possible for up and down motion about the bench frame and in which an upward and downward rack is formed; an elastic body(300) which is installed in order to be transformed by the downstream movement of the barbell holder and has the force of restitution; a pinion which is installed to the bench frame to be geared with the upward and downward rack; and a back holder(500) which is installed at the bench frame to perform horizontal exercise by the rotation of pinion.
