Heatable steering wheel with a heating element coated in polyamide

The steering wheel (10) has a heating element arranged between a steering wheel-shaped base plate (12) and a coating material (18). The heating element has a heating conductor (16) coated with polyamide, where the heating conductor is a heating wire made of metal such as copper and brass, or metal alloy such as chromium alloy, nickel alloy or chromium-nickel alloy. The polyamide coating has a thickness in the range of 5 to 1000 micrometers. An insulating layer (14) is provided between the heating conductor and the base plate and has foam materials made of polyurethane.
