An interactive system in which the system can detect the capabilities of the terminal communicating with the system. If a terminal can initiate a SIP-based VoIP call then an HTTP (HTTPS) session can be initiated and synchronised audio and visual content can be sent to the terminal. If the terminal is only capable of a conventional voice call then the session can be switched to a conventional interactive voice response system.
