[Class 7 (ii)] An ante chamber 3 is charged with powdered fuel by air which is compressed in the cylinder and enters the antechamber through a passage 5 the air inducing powdered fuel from a storage chamber 9 that may contain powdered fuel alone or a mixture of powdered fuel and air. The passage 5 is connected with the storage chamber by an annular passage 7 and bores 6. A valve such as 8 or an annular slide valve controls the connection between the passage and the storage chamber and the valve may be operated directly from the engine or be controlled by an engine governor. An engine operated valve 4 may separate the antechamber from the cylinder.
