<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a large amount of galactose nucleotide on an industrial scale at a low cost. <P>SOLUTION: The method for the production of Gal nucleotide at least contains the step of contacting the Glc nucleotide with (A) a protein containing a specific amino acid sequence or (B) a protein containing an amino acid sequence corresponding to the amino acid sequence of the protein (A) wherein one or several number of amino acids are deleted, substituted, inserted or dislocated and having the activity to convert UDP-Glc to UDP-Gal. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO&NCIPI |
