Pottery means a lot of different products and a first classification can be done in relation with the aim of the goods; the divisions are mainly: traditional pottery (used in the building industry), for covering (tiles, covering - roofing tiles - , bricks and tiles, health services).
In the market there are potteries that are made in sheets of industrial dimensions with small thickness (around 3 mm) with a support composed by one or more glass fiber layers and/or glass support and/or synthetic material. This layer's function is to increase the resistance of the pottery sheet.
These sheets should be cut into sheets of right dimensions according to the utilization.
The sheets that are obtained, are used for flooring and covering different buildings.
The problem that makes difficult this kind of pottery to use is the presence of the glass fiber layer and/or glass material and/or synthetic material that should be taken off before engraving or cutting the sheets otherwise the division of the sheet in smaller pieces is difficult.
