511,757. Gas-blast switches. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Feb. 6, 1939, No. 3867. Convention date, Feb. 8, 1938. [Class 38 (v)] Gas blast circuit breaker in which the switch and exhaust chambers and the contacts are mounted on a compressed gas container by means of an intermediate supporting insulator which serves to convey the pressure gas and which carries the pressure gas blast valve at its end which is adjacent to the switch chamber. In Fig. 1 a gas container a supports an insulator b which conveys pressure gas to the switch mounted inside an insulator c. Pressure gas which is released by valve i, operated by means of piston k and pilot valve m, m', opens the contact f and at the same time opens, by means of tube r and and piston o, the isolating switch p. d is a silencer. This arrangement may be adapted to form two power points of interruption. In another arrangement, Fig. 4, the gas blast valve i and an exhaust valve t may be maintained closed by pressure gas from pilot tubes u', u<2>. On releasing the pressure in these tubes the pressure gas from a can open valve i, and the switch by acting on the piston f<1>, and finally the exhaust valve t against the action of a retaining spring. |
