<p>The device has CPU units transmitting a signal (Rs) representing a process output signal to analog output units (10, 11). The analog output units supply a current corresponding to the signal (Rs) to an actuator (14), and are respectively provided with diagnosis units (15, 16). The diagnosis unit produces a reference signal (Rw) from the current in a diagnosis operation mode, and compares the reference signal with the signal (Rs). The diagnosis unit supplies a status signal (Ms) in dependence of the comparison result of the CPU units. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating an analog output unit for an automation device.</p> |
