A sliding bearing is provided to reduce the amount in which the resin layer is worn away and relieve the shear stress at the bonding interface with a bearing metal. A sliding bearing comprises surface(1) of a bearing metal and a resin layer(2) formed in the surface of bearing metal. The resin layer is made of a first class or greater among the polyamideimide resin, PBI resin or polyimide resin as base resin. The resin layer has the control particle(4) in which the average particle diameter is 0.05~0.7mum by 3~15 volume%.
