A wedge position recognizing method of a disk brake for vehicle is provided to recognize a reference position for brake control of wedge member accurately, thereby implementing stable brake control. A wedge position recognizing method of a disk brake for vehicle comprises a step of recognizing the initial position of a wedge member in the initial stage of braking(400), a step of moving the wedge member to left and right end points and recognizing the left and the right end position(410,420), a step of recognizing the intermediate position between the left and the right end position as a center point of the wedge member(430), a step of deciding the center point as a reference position for brake control(440), and a step of moving the wedge member to the center position and performing brake control(450).
