[Class 12 (i)] In an axle and hub, for pneumatic tyred wheels for carts and the like, the hub 6 of the wheel is formed as a chill casting with the bore forming the bearing surface ground to size, and the spindle 2 on the end of the axle 1 is case hardened and also ground to size. At the inner end the hub has an oil retaining washer 8 and oil groove 7.
