A lithium composite metal oxide containing lithium, nickel, and M (wherein M is manganese and/or cobalt). The lithium composite metal oxide is characterized in that when analyzed by the method of nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry (1), the lithium composite metal oxide gives 7Li solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, which include a spectrum at a spinning rate of 10 kHz, the spectrum having the following signal B. A signal which has a center peak with a spinning sideband, and in which the center peak is in a chemical shift in the range of +1,100 to +1,900 ppm and a maximum peak is in a chemical shift in the range of +2,100 to +2,600 ppm. |
