A method for performing a remote control function during a video call, a mobile terminal and a recording medium are provided to enable a controlling terminal to control the change in the UI information of a controlled mobile terminal. Video communication or image/voice with a controlled mobile terminal is performed(310). A message for allowing the remote control and UI information are received from the controlled mobile terminal(340). The first screen including the UI information is displayed, and the UI information is changed according to an inputted operation(350). The changed UI information is detected and transmitted(360). The UI information is identically outputted even on a screen of the controlled mobile terminal.
