A hard disk drive including a flying height control unit of a magnetic head is provided to control the flying height of the magnetic head accurately, thereby maintaining uniform performance. A hard disk drive comprises a magnetic head(200) including a write head and a read head, a heater coil(260) formed in the magnetic head, a flying height measuring unit measuring the flying height between a disc and the magnetic head, and a controller which controls the current applied to the heater coil in order to maintain the flying height measured by the flying height measuring unit constant.
