A method for preparing encapsulated onion extract containing gamma-linolenic acid is provided to produce health functional foods by mixing onion extract to unsaturated fatty acid. A method for preparing encapsulated onion extract containing gamma-linolenic acid comprises the following steps of: extracting washed and cut raw onion at a temperature range of 95-120°C for 2-4 hours, concentrating the extracts to 20Brix in a double boiler and concentrating the extracts to 60-80Brix at 60-90°C using a vacuum concentrator to prepare onion extract; freeze-drying the onion extract to prepare onion extract powder; mixing and stirring the prepared onion extract powder, tocopherol and evening primrose seed oil containing gamma-linolenic acid at 1000-2000 rpm for 1-2 hours; re-mixing the mixture in the vacuum condition of 400~500mmHg; and preparing soft gelatin capsule in a molder at a temperature of 10-20°C with 2-3 rpm. |
