A system and a method for selectively handling gamut color deviation conversion are provided to selectively reduce or compress image data values inside an image. R*G*B data of give binary bit depth is linearlized by a gamma function(510) by a look up table. RGB color data values are adjusted in a pre-reduce function(520). The adjusted RGB color data is converted to RGBW color data in an RGBW GMA(530) function block. Clamped RGBW data is a sub pixel selectively expressed by an SPR function(540). The data in which linear sub pixels are expressed is non-linearly quantized to match an LCD by a reverse gamma function.
