The panel (1) has vertical rafters (11) assembled with a horizontal ceiling plate (10) in a manner to form an efficient caisson, where the plate serves as a sealing surface. An insulating material (12) is arranged inside the caisson between the rafters. A vapor barrier layer (13) i.e. heat-sealing sheet, is arranged between the material and the plate, where the layer is made of pure styrene-butadiene-styrene elastomer-bitumen mixture. The layer covers exterior lateral walls of the caisson. A phonic or thermal insulating layer in the form of a plate is arranged against the caisson walls. An independent claim is also included for a method for fabricating a roof panel.
