METHOD FOR QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF CERAMIDE IN BIOLOGICAL SAMPLES BY USING INTERNAL STANDARD

A method for quantitative analysis of ceramide in biological samples is provided to compensate measurement error caused by the difference of deacylation reaction and sensitivity. A method for quantitative analysis of ceramide in biological samples comprises a step for adding ceramide as the Internal standard material to a biomaterial sample; extracting lipid component from the biomaterial sample added with the Internal standard material; separating ceramide from the lipid component extracted by a thin layer chromatography(TLC); performing deacylation of the ceramide separated with TLC; performing fluorescence derivatization the deacylated reaction product; and analyzing the fluorescence derived reaction product with HPLC (high performance liquid chromatography).
