FIELD: chemistry. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for making pigments, sun covers and UV remedies, catalysts. Method of nanopowdered metal oxide synthesis of metal compound vapour involves generating induction plasma jet by running plasma-forming gas through high-frequency electromagnetic field. Metal compound vapour, e.g., TiCl4, and induction plasma jet are supplied through the first axial end of the reactor. Reactor pressure is kept within 400-500 torr. Exposed to plasma jet, vapour is heated to reaction temperature within 1500C to 3000C and reacts with plasma-forming gas thus making metal oxide nanoparticles, e.g., TiO2. Then it is cooled at rate 106 C/s in fast cooling zone of high-intense turbulence. The fast cooling zone is arranged downstream and invokes turbulence, at least, 20-30% thus inhibiting particle growth. This zone is generated by injecting high gas coolant flow of velocity 100 m/s into plasma jet. Gas coolant is chosen of the group including air, oxygen and nitrogen. ^ EFFECT: invention allows for making nanopowders of specific surface "" 34,7 m2/g, average diameter 43,3 nm, and narrower particle-size distribution. ^ 30 cl, 17 dwg |
