POLYVINYLCHLORIDE-BASED POLYMER ALLOYS

The present invention generally relates to polyvinylchloride-based (PVC-based) polymer alloys, processes for making same, and products made therefrom. In one embodiment, the present invention relates to polymer alloy compositions comprising a blend of: (i) a polyvinylchloride; and (ii) an olefinic terpolymer, to methods of making same, and to products formed therefrom. In another embodiment, the present invention relates to polymer alloy compositions comprising a blend of: (i) a high, or ultra-high, molecular weight polyvinylchloride having a K value of at least about 70; (ii) an ethylene/carbon monoxide/C1 to C12 alkyl acrylate-modified terpolymer, an ethylene/carbon monoxide/C2 to C12 alkenyl acrylate-modified terpolymer, an ethylene/carbon monoxide/C2 to C12 alkenyl acetate-modified terpolymer, or mixtures of two or more thereof; and (iii) at least one liquid plasticizer, to methods of making same, and to products formed therefrom.
