PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight tile that can be made lightweight following a conventional manufacturing method without adopting a special reinforcing method, reinforcing material, reinforcing shape, or the like. SOLUTION: This lightweight tile has a tile body 2 formed by press molding and having an insertion part 22 at one side end, a batten crest part 21 at the other side end, and an overlap part 23 on the tail side. The lightweight tile is formed with recesses 32, 33 by press molding at one or both of the backside of the insertion part 22 and the backside of the overlap part 23, and dried, baked and partially thin-walled.
