<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copy control technique satisfying both copyright protection and user-friendliness. <P>SOLUTION: The recording/reproducing device has a copy control section to control copying of content data with copy control information added thereto, and a time managing section to correct the internal clock time based on the current time and date regularly or irregularly obtained. The copy control information includes the information specifying the copy permission period of the above content data. The copy control section decides whether or not to permit copying the content data by comparing the internal clock time and the copy permission period of the content data. The copy control section re-writes the information specifying the copy permission period in order to limit the next copying of the content data for a predetermined period when the above content data is copied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
