PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the efficient transfer and storage of a gas hydrate by enhancing the self-preservability of a gas hydrate, in the case where the gas hydrate is transferred and stored in the forms of powder, pellet, compaction block, etc., and reducing the decomposition of the gas hydrate during the transfer and the storage as much as possible. SOLUTION: The transfer-storage method of the gas hydrate for transferring and storing the gas hydrate under decomposition conditions of the gas hydrate is implemented by classifying the gas hydrate to a grain size at which the decomposition is suppressed by a self-preservation effect, then transferring-storing the gas hydrate and/or causing the self-preservable effect of the gas hydrate to appear by leaving the gas hydrate under decomposition conditions of the gas hydrate for a prescribed time prior to the transferring-storing.
