PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eddy current flaw detector which can enhance the space resolving power of a flaw detection signal and the reproducibility of the signal during re-detection of a flaw and reduce an interference signal with a simple circuit constitution. SOLUTION: The eddy current flaw detector includes the magnetic element groups arranged on the peripheral surface of the column-shaped housing, which is loosely inserted in a conductor pipe (not shown), at least in two rows by a predetermined number at equal intervals so that one row of elements 11-18 are arranged at a position different from the other row of elements 21-28 by 1/2 equal interval in a row direction and respective switching circuits for operating the magnetic element groups in a time sharing manner at every row. The magnetic elements 11-18 of one row are provided as magnetic field exciting elements operated in a time sharing manner to excite magnetic fields while the magnetic field detecting elements 21-28 of the other row are provided as magnetic field detection elements operated in a time sharing manner to detect magnetic fields and the magnetic fields excited by the respective magnetic field exciting elements 11-18 are detected by the magnetic field detecting elements 21-28 arranged by two at a position different from the respective magnetic field exciting elements 11-18 by 3/2 equal interval in the raw direction to perform the eddy current flaw detection of the conductor pipe.
