PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the equipment cost, and to rapidly change both the ramming work and the fork hanging work in a cylindrical article conveying device which is applied to a cargo handling vehicle such as a forklift, and used for conveying a cylindrical article such as a wire coil with wires being coiled. SOLUTION: The cylindrical article conveying device comprises a carriage 2, a fork 3, a ram 4 and a driving means 5. In particular, the ram 4 is capable of taking the service position at which the ram is superposed on at least a front half upper surface of a horizontal piece 8 of the fork 3 and the non-service position at which the ram is retreated therefrom, and the driving means 5 for moving the ram 4 from the service position to the non-service position.
