The method involves applying heat exchanging air-to-water and/or air-to-air to a drying system in an industrial laundry to recycle heat and water. An exhaust air flow and the recycled water are combined in a central heat exchanger. Exhaust air from the drying system is used for recycling the water, by separating heated exhaust air from the exhaust air of a drying process, where the drying system is heated with oil or gas. A filter system is used for depositing harmful substances in the exhaust air. The exhaust air free from harmful substances is treated.
