Provided is a particle-like or powder-like food composition containing xylose-coated sugar and xylose-containing frost sugar, which has an effect of inhibiting an increase in blood glucose. A particle-like or powder-like food composition contains xylose-coated sugar or xylose-containing frost sugar. The xylose-coated sugar is prepared by spraying a xylose solution to sugar, drying the xylose-coated sugar in a drier with a temperature range of 50~70°C for 20~40 minutes and cooling down to a room temperature to leave to stand the xylose-coated sugar for 5~20 minutes. The xylose solution is prepared by dissolving the xylose in a solvent such as water. The mixing ratio of the xylose and the solvent is 1 to 1~3 by weight.
