A piston-ring of a reciprocating engine is provided to improve the gas sealing ability by maximizing a first curved surface radius of the outer circumference of the piston-ring. A piston-ring of a reciprocating engine comprises an outer circumference(2a) contacting a sliding surface(3a) of a cylinder liner(3). The outer circumference is a shape of a curved surface. The radius of curvature(R) of the outer circumference is set up as an arc profile of a cylinder bore of an engine. A sprayed thin layer of a molybdenum system is in the outer circumference. The sprayed thin file has the initial break-in property, the abrasion resistance and the anti-scuff property.
