An apparatus and a method for executing application without deviating from a work area in a multi-monitor system and enforcing the application are provided to perform the docking operation of a popup window and the separation protection of monitor work on an extended monitor. A multi-monitor recognition module(10) comprises a monitor recognition part(20), a basic field recognition part(30), a virtual region recognition part(40) and an output part(50). The monitor recognition part recognizes the number of monitors connected to the computer. The basic field recognition part recognizes clearly the size of the work area of the basic monitor. The virtual region recognition part recognizes clearly the size of the work area of the virtual monitor. The output unit produces the coordinate of the virtual monitor. When the application reacting in the boundary of the work area is performed, the application is performed by receiving information about the work are of virtual monitor by the multi-monitor recognition module.
