<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the material delivery system of a surgical instrument having a longitudinally extending knife slot. <P>SOLUTION: The delivery system includes at least one pocket positioned adjacent to the knife slot such that a portion of each pocket is open to the knife slot and the delivery source of treatment material to be positioned within the at least one pocket.
