<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably and accurately detect a developer concentration. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device Gy includes: a first inflow part E1 for carrying a developer from a second developer housing chamber 7 having a bottom surface disposed below in a gravity direction relative to a bottom surface of a first developer housing chamber 6 storing the developer supplied to a developer retainer R0 to the first developer housing chamber 6; a concentration detecting member 31 for detecting the developer stored in the second developer housing chamber 7; a second conveying member 26 for conveying the developer in the second developer housing chamber 7 in a second developer conveying direction; and a recessed part 2d provided in an inner wall surface 2a of an area A1 facing the concentration detecting member 31 in which the sectional area vertical to the second developer conveying direction Ya of the area A1 facing the concentration detecting member 31 is larger than the sectional area vertical to the second developer conveying direction of an area E1a facing the first inflow part E1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
