<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of eliminating a difference between the charging quantity of toner in developing and the charging quantity of toner in non-developing, and an image forming apparatus provided therewith. <P>SOLUTION: The developing device (7) adapted to develop a toner image by charging toner by use of a carrier and supplying the resulting toner to an image carrier (5) comprises: a magnetic roller (50) for forming a magnetic brush by the carrier and the toner, which is disposed within a housing having an opening opposed to the image carrier; a developing roller (60) for forming a thin layer of the toner transferred from the magnetic brush at the opening; an electrode member (78) partially surrounding the outer circumferential side of the developing roller, to which a predetermined voltage is applied; and a voltage control means (92) which controls the voltage applied to the electrode member according to the magnitude of a parameter correlated with the charging quantity of the toner formed on the developing roller. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
