PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an electric double layer capacitor electrode for stably forming a CNT on a substrate in order to materialize a large surface area in the electrode of the EDLC. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the electric double layer capacitor electrode in which the carbon nanotube is adherently bonded to an electrode substrate almost in parallel with its longitudinal direction, when depositing the carbon nanotube by electrodeposition by impressing a voltage between electrodes facing each other, the surface of a negative electrode on the counter electrode side of a metal to which electrodeposition is applied. The insulating film is a metal oxide film, and the insulating film is preferably made by oxidizing the surface of the metal forming the electrode. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
