Provided is a discharging apparatus having a guide member capable of supporting and guiding a sheet softly thereby to suppress the damage of the sheet. The discharging apparatus comprises a first delivery (29) and a second delivery (31) arranged along the carrying direction of the sheet (13) for carrying the sheet (13), and a vacuum carrier side guide member (87) and a paper abutment side guide member (89) disposed over the first delivery (29) for supporting and guiding the sheet (13) selectively from below it. The vacuum carrier side guide member (87) and the paper abutment side guide member (89) have band-shaped members (93 and 113), which can be adjusted in their protruding lengths and moved in the longitudinal direction and which support and guide the sheet (13) when they move over the first delivery (29).
