A switch device, such as a horn switch device, installed on a steering wheel, in which a water column is prevented from being produced between contact sections of a pair of opposite contact points. A movable member (30) and a stationary member (40) of the horn switch device (20) are arranged to be opposite each other, and the upper movable member (30) is placed such that it can make contact with and separate from the lower stationary member (40) and that it is urged upward by urging means (50). Further, at least a pair of projection-like contact points (35, 45) is formed on the movable member (30) and the stationary member (40) at their positions opposite each other. When the contact points (35, 45) are in contact with each other, both the members (30, 40) are electrically interconnected to close a horn circuit. A rivet (46) as a contact section is installed at the head of the lower stationary contact point (45), and an opening (36) is formed in the upper movable contact point (35). The outer periphery of the opening (36) functions as a contact section making contact with the rivet (46).
