OPTICAL FILM, POLARIZING PLATE, IMAGE DISPLAY APPARATUS AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film excellent in an anti-glare performance and black sharpness and a method of manufacturing the optical film and to provide a polarizing plate and an image display apparatus using the optical film.

SOLUTION: The optical film has an anti-glare layer on a transparent support, the anti-glare layer has a matrix constituting it and at least two kinds of translucent particles. At least one kind of the translucent particle (particle A) has an average particle diameter of 5.5 to 15.0 μm and at least one kind thereof (particle B) has an average particle diameter of 105% to 135% to that of the particle A. Film thickness of the anti-glare layer in the optical film is 8 to 40 μm.
