<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily grasp the configurations of an electronic document, and to perform edition for every image region or character region in the page of the document. <P>SOLUTION: A region extraction part 11 extracts an image region including an image and the image data of a character region including a character string from the page image data of electronic document data, and a registration part 13 registers the electronic document data and the page image data of the electronic document data and the region image data extracted by the region extraction part 11 about the page image data in a storage part 14 by associating them one another, and a retrieval display part 2 displays a document structure configured of the page configuration of the electronic document data and the region image data in a page on the basis of the data registered in the storage part 14 at a display part 20.
